| The Baltimore Student Sun photometer Network (BSSN) is a network of students and teachers at over 20 Baltimore City middle and high schools. Students will take daily measurements of aerosols around Baltimore City using a hand held sun photometer. Working with NASA and the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) scientists, students will provide important information to help study high asthma rates that occur in Baltimore City school childern. Furthermore, the student sun photometer measurements will be used to verify the accuracy of data that NASA collects from instruments aboard NASA's Terra satellite. |
