RV Aegaeo is a multipurpose research vessel. She is operated by the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR), Greece. A series of short cruises took place between February and May 2013. The cruise area included Mediterranean Sea, Gulf of Suez, and Red Sea. One hundred ninety-one (191) measurement series spanning seventy one (71) days were acquired during those cruises.
Dr. Georgiy Stenchikov from the Earth Sciences and Engeneering Program (ErSE) within the Division of Physical Sciences and Engineering , King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) was a Principal Investigator for aerosol optical depth measurements. Dr. Nabeel Alikunhi, Mr. Ioannis Georgakakis, Mr. Thamer Habis, and Mr. Francis Mallon from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) conducted measurements onboard. Dr. Jish Prakash from Physical Sciences and Engineering (PSE) Division of KAUST assisted in additional information collection.
