RV Akademik Fedorov

R/V Akademik Fedorov belongs to the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (Saint Petersburg, Russia) of the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring of Russian Federation. The cruise started in November 2011 and ended in May 2012. The cruise area included an Atlantic transect from North Sea to Cape Town and then crossing into the South Atlantic to Antarctica, measurements around Antarctica, crossing to South America, and an Atlantic transect back to Baltic Sea and Saint Petersburg, Russia. Three hundred forty-eight (348) measurement series spanning 60 days were acquired.

Dr. Vladimir F. Radionov (Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, St.Petersburg, Russia) was the Principal Investigator for aerosol optical measurements. Mr. Nikolay Vlasov and Alexander Prakhov from Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI) operated a sunphotometer onboard.
