R/V Akademik Treshnikov belongs to the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (Saint Petersburg, Russia) of the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring of Russian Federation. The cruise started in January and ended in April 2013. The cruise area included an Atlantic transect from North Sea to South America and then crossing into the South Atlantic to Antarctica, crossing to South America, and an Atlantic transect back to Baltic Sea and Saint Petersburg, Russia. Two hundred seventy five (275) measurement series spanning 48 days were acquired.
Dr. Vladimir F. Radionov (Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, St.Petersburg, Russia) was the Principal Investigator for aerosol optical measurements. Mr. Alexander Prakhov and Oleg Andreev from Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute operated a sunphotometer onboard.
