The CCGS Hudson is an offshore oceanographic and hydrographic survey vessel operated by Canadian Coast Guard within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). The cruise was part of DFO’s Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program and took place in April 2010. The cruise area included parts of northwestern Atlantic off the coast of Nova Scotia. Eleven (11) measurement series spanning 5 days were acquired during the cruise.

The principal Investigator for aerosol optical depth measurements was Gordana Lazin from the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (DFO), Halifax, Canada and the Chief Scientist of the cruise was Dr. Edward Horne from the same institution.
