The R/V Kilo Moana is an oceanographic research ship which is operated by the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology of the University of Hawaii. A short cruise in the North Pacific Ocean took place in July 2009 as a part of the WHOTS project (http://uop.whoi.edu/projects/whots/whots.html). Nineteen (19) measurement series spanning five (5) days were acquired during the cruise.

Mr. Ludovic Bariteau from the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences – a joint institute of the University of Colorado at Boulder and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was a Principal Investigator for optical depth measurements and operated sunphotometer onboard.
