The R/V Meteor is owned by the Federal Republic of Germany and is operated by the University of Hamburg. The cruise took place in July - August 2013. The cruise area included a latitudinal transect in South Tropical Atlantic and Walvis Bay. One hundred twenty nine (129) measurement series spanning 35 days were acquired during the cruise.
Dr. Stefan Kinne from Max Planck Institute for Meteorology ( Hamburg, Germany) was the Principal Investigator for optical depth measurements. Mr. Andreas Raeke from German Weather Service operated a sunphotometer onboard.
