MARITIME AEROSOL NETWORK (MAN)
 
2011 RV Polarstern Cruise
 

R/V Polarstern belongs to the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research ( Bremerhaven, Germany). The cruise took place in April - May 2011. The cruise area included an Atlantic transect from South Africa to Bremerhaven. Two-hundred ninety-two (292) measurement series spanning 20 days were acquired during the cruise.

Dr. Stefan Kinne from Max Planck Institute for Meteorology ( Hamburg, Germany) was the Principal Investigator for optical depth measurements. Dr. Cathy Hohenegger from the same institution operated a sun photometer onboard.
