2012 RV Polarstern Cruise
 

RV Polarstern

The R/V Polarstern is owned by the Federal Republic of Germany and is operated by the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bermerhaven. The cruise took place from April 2012 to May 2012. The cruise area included an Atlantic transect from South America to Bremerhaven.

Dr. Stefan Kinne from Max Planck Institute for Meteorology ( Hamburg, Germany) was the Principal Investigator for optical depth measurements. Ms. Seethala Chellappan from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, with financial support through the MPI for Meteorology (Hamburg, Germany) operated a sunphotometer onboard.
