2011 NOAA Ronald H. Brown Cruise |

R/V Ronald H. Brown is owned and operated by the United States of America, Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The cruise took place in July-August 2011 within the framework of the NOAA trans-Atlantic Aerosol and Ocean Science Expeditions (AEROSE) project. The cruise area included latitudinal transect in the Atlantic Ocean from Norfolk, Virginia to Cape Town, South Africa. Two hundred seventeen (208) measurement series spanning 20 days were acquired during the cruise.
Dr. Everett Joseph from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Howard University (Washington, DC) and Dr. Nicholas Nalli from NOAA/NESDIS (Camp Springs, Maryland, USA) were Principal Investigators for aerosol optical depth measurements. Ms. Mayra Oyola from Howard University operated a sunphotometer onboard.
