2013 RV SA Agulhas II Cruise

The RV SA Agulhas II is South Africa's polar research vessel. The ship is operated by the Department of Environmental Affairs, Directorate of Antarctica and Islands. During the cruise sun photometer measurements took place in September and October of 2013. The cruise area included the South Atlantic Ocean, and islands of the Tristan da Cunha group. Twenty seven (27) measurement series spanning 13 days were acquired during the cruise.

Mr. Stephen Broccardo from University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg (South Africa) was the Principal Investigator for optical depth measurements, and operated a sunphotometer onboard.
