The RV Akademik belongs to Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and is operated by the Institute of Oceanology (Varna). This cruise, supported by the Romanian Space Agency within the framework of satellite ocean color activities coordinated with the European Space Agency, was conducted in the Black Sea in August - September 2012. Ninety-six (96) measurement series spanning fourteen (14) days were acquired.
Dr. Giuseppe Zibordi from the European Commission - Joint Research Centre (Ispra, Italy) was the Principal Investigator for aerosol optical measurements and operated a sun photometer onboard.
