MARITIME AEROSOL NETWORK (MAN)
 
2008 MV Akbar 2008 Cruise
 

MV Akbar is a regular passenger ship which operates between Port Blair and Visakhapatnam. It is operated by the Shipping Corporation of India. The cruise took place in May-June 2008. The cruise area included Bay of Bengal. Seventy (70) measurement series spanning 4 days were acquired during the cruise.

Dr. K. Krishnamoorthy from Space Physics Laboratory, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Trivandrum, India was a Principal Investigator for aerosol optical measurements, teaming with Prof. Kandula Niranjan from Department of Physics, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India.
