The R/P FLIP (Floating Instrument Platform) is an open ocean research vessel. She belongs to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. The R/P FLIP conducted a cruise in the Tropical Pacific off the Island of Hawaii during September 2009. Eighty three (83) measurement series spanning 8 days were acquired.
Dr. Kenneth Voss from the University of Miami (Department of Physics) was a Principal Investigator for aerosol optical depth measurements and Mr. Luke Logan from the same institution operated sunphotometer onboard.
