The Royal Research Ship James Cook is a British oceanographic research vessel. The cruise took place from November 2010 to January 2011. The cruise area included the region around Drake Passage in the Southern Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Eight (8) measurement series spanning 5 days were acquired during the cruise.
Dr. Douglas L. Westphal from Naval Research Laboratory (Monterey, California) was a Principal Investigator for aerosol optical depth measurements. Mr. Alec Bogdanoff from Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science, Florida State University (Tallahassee, Florida) operated a sunphotometer onboard.
