R/V Marion-Dufresne belongs to French TAAF (Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises). The cruise took place in April-May 2009. The cruise area in the South Indian Ocean included the region between Reunion and Tromelin islands and in the Mozambique Channel near the French Eparses Islands ( Europa, Juan de Nova, Glorieuses and Tromelin). Two hundred ninety-one (291) measurement series spanning 25 days were acquired during the cruise. The cruise was sponsored by TAAF and INSU.
Mr. Yann Courcoux from L'Observatoire de Physique de l'Atmosphère de la Réunion, (OPAR) at the Université de la Réunion (Saint Denis de la Réunion, France) was a Principal Investigator for aerosol optical measurements and conducted measurements onboard assisted by Mr. Patrick Hernandez.
