2011 RV Melville Cruise

RV Melville

RV Melville is a research vessel operated by Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Aerosol optical depth measurements were undertaken during the NSF funded ANACONDAS project cruise to the Amazon River Plume onboard the RV Melville in September – October of 2011. Sixty-eight (68) measurement series spanning twenty-three (23) days were acquired.

Measurement efforts were led by Principal Investigator Dr. Joaquim Goes (Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University) and also involved the participation of Dr. Helga do Rosario Gomes (Lamont Doherty), Benjamin Page (University of Georgia) and Daniele Teles Araujo (EMBRAPA, Brazil)
