The R/V Meteor is owned by the Federal Republic of Germany and is operated by the University of Hamburg. The cruise took place in December 2013. The cruise area included a transect from South Indian Ocean to Walvis Bay in South Atlantic Ocean. Eighty nine (89) measurement series spanning 12 days were acquired during the cruise.
Dr. Stefan Kinne from Max Planck Institute for Meteorology ( Hamburg, Germany) was the Principal Investigator for optical depth measurements. Mr. Sebastian Schirber from the same institution operated a sunphotometer onboard.
