2009 RV Polarstern Cruise

RV Polarstern

R/V Polarstern belongs to the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research ( Bremerhaven, Germany). The cruise took place from October 16 - November 25, 2009. The cruise area included an Atlantic transect from Bremerhaven to Punta Arenas, Chile. One hundred fifty (150) measurement series spanning 29 days were acquired during the cruise.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Macke from the Leibniz Institute for Marine Sciences IFM-GEOMAR (Kiel, Germany) was the Principal Investigator for cloud, radiation flux and aerosol optical depth measurements. Dr. Thijs Heus from Max Planck Institute for Meteorology (Hamburg, Germany) operated the sun photometer onboard.
