
R/V Polarstern belongs to the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (Bremerhaven, Germany). The cruise took place in April - May 2007. The cruise area included an Atlantic transect from Cape Town to North Sea. Two-hundred and twenty-five (225) measurement series spanning 21 day were acquired during the cruise.
Professor Dr. Andreas Macke from Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences (Kiel, Germany) was a Chief Scientist. Dr. Alexei Sinitsyn from the P.P.Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Russia) conducted aerosol optical depth measurements.
