R/V Polarstern belongs to the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research ( Bremerhaven, Germany). The cruise took place in April - May 2010. The cruise area included an Atlantic transect from South America to Bremerhaven. Four-hundred sixty-seven (467) measurement series spanning 27 days were acquired during the cruise.
Dr. Stefan Kinne from Max Planck Institute for Meteorology ( Hamburg, Germany) was a Principal Investigator for optical depth measurements. Ms. Katrin Lonitz from the same institution operated sun photometer onboard.
