R/V Ronald H. Brown is owned and operated by the United States of America, Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The cruise took place in November - December 2013 within the framework of the trans-Atlantic Aerosol and Ocean Science Expeditions (AEROSE) project. The cruise area included latitudinal and longitudinal transects in the Tropical Atlantic. One hundred sixty five (165) measurement series spanning 18 days were acquired during the cruise.
Dr. Everett Joseph from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Howard University (Washington, DC) and Dr. Nicholas Nalli from NOAA/NESDIS (College Park, Maryland, USA) were Principal Investigators for aerosol optical depth measurements. Ms. Mayra Oyola from Howard University led the sunphotometer operations onboard. Mr. Adrian Flores provided shoreside assistance with data management.
