2007-2008 MV SA Agulhas Cruise
 

MV SA Agulhas

The SA Agulhas is South Africa's polar research vessel. The ship belongs to the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Directorate of Antarctica and islands. During the cruise sun photometer measurements took place from December 2007 through February 2008. The cruise area included the Southern Atlantic and region near coast of Antarctica. Two hundred sixty two (262) measurement series spanning 38 days were acquired during the cruise.

Dr. Stuart Piketh from University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg was a Principal Investigator for optical depth measurements while Mr. Dale Wilson from the same institution operated the sunphotometer onboard.

We thank Mr. Brett Kuyper from University of Cape Town who assisted with operation of the sun photometer.
