The Oceanographic R/V Sagar Sampada belongs to the Centre for Marine Living Resources and Environment (CMLRE) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, India. The cruise took place from the 26th Feb to the 21st March 2011. The cruise area included the western and the central Arabian Sea. Two-hundred thirty-six (236) measurement series spanning 17 days were acquired during the cruise.
Dr. Joaquim I. Goes from Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University (Palisades, NY) was the Principal Investigator. Dr. K. N. Babu and Ms. Radhika Chipade, Space Applications Centre, Indian Space Research Organization, Ahmedabad, India helped conduct the aerosol optical depth measurements.
