2008 Trans Future 5 Cruise

Trans Future 5

The volunteer observation ship MS Trans Future 5 services the area between New Zealand, Australia and Japan. The cruise took place in August - September 2008. The cruise area included a Pacific transect from Nelson, NZ to Japan. Ninety-one (91) measurement series spanning 13 days were acquired during the cruise.

Dr. Mike Harvey, Mr. Ross Martin, and Mr. Tony Bromley from National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (Wellington, New Zealand) were Principal Investigators for aerosol optical measurements. Mr. Tony Bromley operated sun photometer onboard.

Acknowledgement

These measurements on the Trans Future 5 volunteer observing ship have been made possible through collaboration between the National Institute of Environmental Studies, Tsukuba, Japan in conjunction with the Toyofuji Shipping Company, and the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, Wellington, New Zealand.
