Site Description:
  • The instrument is deployed on a mobile trailer of the Dutch Ruisdael observatory. It will be used in combination with another Cimel located at the Cabauw tower to measure urban aerosol gradients in the Dutch Randstad. The base coordinates correspond to the roof of the main building of the VU University, where the instrument is currently being tested. Otherwise, it will be used in campaigns, at variable coordinates depending on where the trailer is parked. The campaigns will visit sites of variable pollution level in De Randstad area, with specific interest in emission plumes of large sources of CO2 (powerplants and industrial facilities in Rotterdam and IJmuiden).
