Description:
|
- The UNH Observing Station at Appledore Island is located at the Shoals Marine Lab on Appledore Island (42.97N, 70.62W, elevation 55 ft.) in the Isles of Shoals. The instruments our housed in an 60 ft high concrete WWII lookout tower on the top floor. This site, provides us an unique sampling location off the coast of Maine and New Hampshire. This location, during certain meteorological conditions, allows us to measure air masses that do not cross over northern New England giving us information on pollution sources.
