Site Description:
  • The Baengnyeong super site is located in the Baengnyeong island. Baengnyeong island is in the boundary of the South Korea and North Korea. The measurement station building is in a hillside(441 ft @ sea level) and is adjacent to the sea. As to Baengnyeong island, there is no artificial remarkable pollution source. And we run this station with the long-range transport air pollutant observatory. The level ground rate is very low and this island is mostly comprised of a forest. A landmark is the Baengnyeong meteorological observatory. This is one of the upper air observatory in Korea.
