Site Description:
  • The sunphotometer is located in a field of the Agronomical Research Center of Bambey depending of ISRA (Institut Senegalais de Recherche Agricole), north-west from the small city of Bambey ( 22 to 25000 inhabitants). The station is situated in the middle-west of Senegal, 120 km east from Dakar, in the heart of the groundnut basin, in an area whose production systems are of sahelian agro-pastoral type (rainfed crops - millet, sorghum, groundnuts, cowpeas - associated with farming and pure pastoralism). This station is located in an area of desert dust transport.
