Image 1 - Image 2 - Image 1 Image 2   Site Coordinates and Elevation: Latitude: 42.50470° North Longitude: 87.80930° West Elevation: 179.0 Meters Site Description: Platform is located on the roof of a free-standing air monitoring shelter, covered with synthetic decking material and edged with permanent steel rails. Rooftop surface area is ~2.5 x 6 meters. The shelter is within a gated and locked chain-link fence topped with barbed wire. The location is embedded in a restored natural prairie reserve approximately 275 m west of Lake Michigan and ~ 1 km north of the Illinois state line. One, or 2 tightly spaced vehicles may be pulled off of the road onto a short gravel drive directly in front of the monitoring site.
