Site
Description:
|
- The unit will be located on top of the building (near the roof) with clear line of site of the sky at the GasLab of the University of Costa Rica. The site is located at the E-NE of San Jose (SJ) downtown, the capital of Costa Rica. Trade wind es East to West, so aerosols will not come from the main city but there is some active vehicle circulation near the site. Turrialba volcano (passive degassing with occasional ash eruptions) and Irazu volcano (dormant) are located to the East of the site, so wind will bring volcanic plume on top of the site when there is significant activity. Site conduct regular ozonesonde and CFH sonde launches por NASA satellite calibration and validation projects. A PANDORA instrument will be added to the site later this year.
