The island of Gozo has a population of around 30,000 inhabitants. The measuring site has suburban characteristics and is located approximately 3 km from the capital city of Victoria and approximately 40 meters setback from the main road. The climate is typically Mediterranean with mild winters and warm summers. Possible sources of aerosols are light industry, vehicular traffic, ship emissions, Etna eruptions and quarries.
