Site Description:
  • The instrument is installed at the IITM’s Atmospheric Research Testbed-Central India (ART-CI) facility, Silkheda, a remote village surrounded by farmlands. CIMEL Sun photometer is deployed on the rooftop of the Laboratory (5m above ground level) to avoid obstructions. From the capital city of Bhopal, the site is aerially 39 km away (NW direction) and 58 km by road. The main aerosol sources at the site are biomass burning, soil/dust from farmlands and long-range transported aerosols.
