Site Description:
  • On the roof of a single story laboratory building at the southern corner of a plateau sticking into the wind blowing up the Kali Gandaki Valley. Nearest road: 200 m horizontal, 90 m lower. Village of Syang (pop ~100) 600 m upwind, 100 m down. Town of Jomsom (pop ~ 2000) 1-2 km downwind, 100 m down. One dilapidated hotel 450 m upwind, same elevation.
