Site Description
Lake Lefroy is a dry salt lake in southern Western Australia, about 70 km south of Kalgoorlie and 600 km east of Perth. The site is on a mining lease operated by St Ive's Gold Fields. The cimel is collocated with other meteorological instrumentation within a fenced enclosure on an island in the lake. It is mounted on a stand consisting of a purpose-built concrete plinth and post, bringing the instrument to a height of 1.2 metres above ground level.
