Site Description:

  • Mounted on Aluminium plate using U-bolts to a corner location at a rooftop location at 1-19 Torrington Place, London WC1E 7HB, UK. To the south the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament can be observed. To the West, the BT transmitter tower (the tallest structure in London) can also be clearly seen. The Urban Atmospheric Observatory (UAO) located on the rooftop of the building housing administrative staff and the Bartlett School of Architecture Postgraduate Research school is next to one of the busiest streets in London (Tottenham Court Road) and the nearby area is bounded by Oxford Street on the South and Marylebone Road to the North which have recorded at street level some of the highest pollution levels (both PM2.5 and PM10) in Europe, well beyond the EU-EEA exceedance limits.
