Site Description
The installation site is located on a rooftop at the NASA/ Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) campus, 7 miles northwest of the Caltech campus, an additional AERONET site. The JPL instrument is in close proximity to a rooftop air quality monitoring station at JPL’s campus, equipped with additional monitors including:• GRIMM EDM 164 optical particle counter• AirPhoton PM2.5 speciation monitor, part of the Surface Particulate Matter Network (SPARTAN)• AethLabs MA350 Aethalometer• Aerosol Mass and Optical Depth (AMOD) sampler• Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus Weather Station• PurpleAir-II low-cost PM sensor• AirPhoton Multi-wavelength polarimetric polar nephelometer• Aerosol Dynamics scanning electrical mobility spectrometer• NO2 and SO2 sensorsThese data will support validation of aerosol retrievals from the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) and the Multi-Angle Imager for Aerosols (MAIA).
