Site Coordinates and Elevation:

  • Latitude: 47.12823° North
  • Longitude: 99.24136° West
  • Elevation: 590.0 Meters

Site Description:
  • Photometer is mounted on the Southwest Corner of the NEON observation tower. Tower is metal frame, 26' tall. NOTE: the tower height is NOT included in the elevation stated above in part d. (WOOD - Woodworth - U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) The ecosystem around and in the NEON tower airshed at this site is an old field being restored to native prairie. It has been re-seeded with native plant species once, and this may be done again in the near future. Many forbs and grass seedlings are present, which are probably native species germinating following re-seeding. This ecosystem is not a wildland Pothole Prairie, but instead a regenerating prairie.
