Site Coordinates and Elevation:

  • Latitude: 29.35883° North
  • Longitude: 79.45827° East
  • Elevation: 1939.0 Meters

Site Description:
  • The AERONET has been installed atop 56 cm telescope building. To avoid any unwanted reflections from the telescope dome or other elevated structure, the pyranometer has been kept in a labeled platform raised up to ~6 m from the rooftop. The AERONET site is located at a high altitude station in the central Himalayas, having undulated topography and considered to be a free tropospheric site. The observing site has also an Observatory for the Optical Astronomy.
