- This Met Office site housing the sun photometer is located in Northern Ireland. Portglenone is located around 45 km north east from Belfast, the largest city in Northern Ireland. The sun photometer is part of the volcanic ash lidar system network, and collocated to a lidar, as well as a weather radar system.
