Site Description
Our existing optical instruments (Solar radiometers, LIDARs etc.) were installed on the terrace so as to avoid obstructions of tall buildings and trees, and also to suppress city light pollution during nighttime. The SW and LW radiation sensors and the low-level lidar dome can also be seen in the photograph. In fact, this particular photograph was taken during the winter period, when we encounter hazy sky in most of the mornings and evenings due to near surface and elevation hazy layers caused by temperature inversions. More details about our experimental site and its meteorology have been published in many research papers in peer reviewed International and National Journals.
