Site Description
The sun photometer is located next to the town Rhyl within a Met Office enclosure. Rhyl is, situated on the north east coast of Wales (United Kingdom), at the mouth of the River Clwyd. The city Liverpool and Manchester are located 20km and 50km to the north east. The sun photometer is collocated to a lidar instruments within a UK volcanic ash detection network. Besides the lidar additional weather observation instruments are available on site.
