Soil moisture and water cycle field experiments were conducted to validate data, test instruments and algorithms, integrate measurements, and evaluate new remote sensing technologies. The experiments are part of a continuing joint project between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and NASA (see http://hydrolab.arsusda.gov/smex02/).
