Site Description:

  • The Soil Moisture Experiments in 2002 were conducted in Iowa between mid-June and mid-July 2002. Soil moisture and water cycle field experiments were conducted to validate data, test instruments and algorithms, integrate measurements, and evaluate new remote sensing technologies. The experiments are part of a continuing joint project between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and NASA (see http://hydrolab.arsusda.gov/smex02/).
