Site Description
Located on the top of the meteorological building in Sao Tome opposite of the Sao Tome Principe International Airport, on the island of Sao Tome. The island of Sao Tome is in the Atlantic Ocean about 250 km off the west coast of Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, Africa. Although not heavily populated (< 200,000 people distributed over the island) the site experiences moderate levels of biomass burning from local sources and is frequently subject to transport from the African continent as well.
