Site Description
This Met Office site housing the sun photometer is close to Stornoway. Stornoway is a town on the Isle of Lewis, which is part of Scotland. The town's population is around 8000. There is also an important port for ships. The sun photometer is part of the volcanic ash lidar system network, and collocated to a lidar, as well as a weather radar system
