It is typically characterized by low aerosol amounts except during periods of strong winds that occur in the Spring and to lesser extent in the Fall. Large amounts of windblown dust as well as gypsum particles are present during these dust episodes. Climatological conditions are very similar to those of the Sevilleta location.
