DATA - ACCESS and DISSEMINATION TOOLS

The AERONET web site provides data analysis and dissemination tools. Data may be viewed in charts using the data display interface, acquired using the data download tool, analyzed and downloaded with related data sets using the BAMGOMAS data display interface, or analyzed off-line using a number of analysis tools provided by AERONET/PHOTONS.

+ Data Usage and Guidelines

Special Data Requests
To request data not available on the web site, please send an email message to Ilya Slutsker; the message should include the site(s), temporal range, data type (e.g., aerosol optical depth), and data format (i.e., all points, daily averages).

Data Display Interface and Download Tools

Data are available through the data display interface and download tools using the "DATA ACCESS" links in the left margin. These links provide direct access to aerosol optical depth data, aerosol inversions, solar flux, and ocean color data.

A new on-line analysis tool is available under the "Data Synergy Tool " link. This tool provides access to AERONET and other related data sets such as back trajectory analyses, MODIS images and data, GOCART model data, and MPLNET lidar data as well as other related data products.

AERONET/PHOTONS Analysis Tools

Several off-line analysis tools have been developed by AERONET/PHOTONS to analyze AERONET data with satellite data. These tools can be accessed at the LOA software development page or using the links below.

  • METLook - METEOSAT Viewer
  • TMLook - LANDSAT Viewer
  • Msixs - Satellite Signal Simulation
  • Wsixs - Web Application of Msixs
