TROUBLESHOOTING - Incomplete Messages

+ Return to TROUBLESHOOTING

Sometimes messages are received but are incomplete, indicating data are being lost. Possible causes for this include:

  • 12 Volt battery is low. The transmission begins but the battery drops below a critical value before it ends and the end of the message is lost
  • The clock is slow. For long messages, the transmission is extending past its 2-minute transmission window and interfering with another instrument's transmission
  • The 'Maxbytes' parameter is set too low. This parameter indicates the size of the message (in bytes) that will be sent. It must be larger than the data received from the Cimel, plus any flux sensors if attached.
